About Sunlight Mountain Resort
General:
Located in Glenwood Springs, CO, Sunlight Mountain offers up a good mix of terrain at an affordable price. The summit has impeccable views of Mount Sopris and the Elk Mountain Range
Terrain:
The mountain has plenty of family friendly terrain, as well as some expert terrain. Sunlight's ski area covers 470 acres and has a surprising 2000 feet of vertical. All trails converge back at the base.
Sunlight has one of the steepest runs in the state on its East Ridge. It's named The Heathen and has a pitch 52 degrees.
On a powder day, the tree skiing is great at Sunlight. Covered in aspen trees, and untracked days after a storm, Upper, Gibson and Sundown Glades offer some of the best tree skiing around.
Village:
At the base of the Mouintain there is a restaurant and lounge. Other amenities include a rental and retail shop, ski school, children's center and snowmobile tours.
If you plan on skiing Aspen, consider staying in Glenwood Springs. There are more affordable lodging options and a world-class hot springs resort in town.
Deals:
Daily discounts on lift tickets available with a Colorado GEMs card.
Reasons:
More affordable than the Aspen Resorts down the road; Not crowded, family-friendly resort.
