About Telluride Ski Resort
General:
Telluride is a world-class ski resort located deep in the San Juan Mountains. Often missed because of its location, if you have a chance to make the trip, make it. The resort is large enough to entertain the whole family, with plenty of extra activities to do besides just skiing and snowboarding.
Terrain:
Often ranked as one of the top resorts for terrain in the U.S., Telluride has plenty of variety and challenge. The terrain naturally flows from beginner to expert, as you go from the mountain village side to the downtown side of the Resort.
Recently open in 2008, the Revelation Bowl expanded terrain at Telluride nearly 400 acres. Telluride has one of the largest verticals in the country at 4,425 feet.
For all you powder hungry skiiers and riders, Silverton Mountain is close by. So, after shredding Telluride for a few days, head to Silverton, CO on a weekend to really up the ante on the expert terrain.
Village:
The resort consists of a separate modern mountain village that connects with historic downtown Telluride via a free gondola. The town of Telluride is situated in a valley surrounded by 13,000 foot peaks and Colorado’s tallest free-falling waterfall, Bridal Veil Falls.
Downtown Telluride is a classic western town with wide streets and a history of miners passing through. In June 1889 Butch Cassidy robbed the San Miguel Valley Bank in Telluride, his first recorded robbery. The town of Telluride hosts lots of fairs and festivals throughout the year.
The Mountain Village has the modern feel you'd expect from a world class resort. Loads of shopping, dining, lodging and recreation opportunities exists in Telluride, CO.
