Purgatory / Durango Ski Area
About Purgatory / Durango Mountain
General:
Durango (Purgatory) Mountain is located about 30 minutes from the town of Durango, Colorado. It is a family friendly resort - affordable cost and plenty of beginner/intermediate terrain. Durango Mountain and Purgatory Mountain are used interchangeably to describe the same ski mountain.
Terrain:
Durango offers a vast variety of terrain to both boarders and skiers. They opened up a new jib park, helping with the development of the next x-games participants. They also are plentiful with steep runs that get the blood to the legs flowing!
Village:
Durango is not your typical resort, It is not located inside of a town and therefore has less variety than the standard I-70 resort. This makes for a cozy atmosphere and great beer specials.
The bar at creekside is always serving up happy hour micro-beers or for the loyalist in you, you can grab a $3.00 tall boy PBR. Whichever venue you are looking for, you will find it here in Durango Mountain village, and don't worry about dressing to impress, as everyone is a local here.
Reasons to Go:
Affordable lift tickets; Good mix of terrain.
AGgnar Rating: 3.5 out of 5
