About Beaver Creek Ski Resort
General:
Beaver Creek is located just a few miles down the highway from
Vail Resort. For guests who want the total package, Beaver Creek covers it all: great food, great hotels, great slopes, and a great town. When Vail Resort gets too crowded over the weekends, the locals head to Beaver Creek.
Terrain:
The terrain at Beaver Creek is varied over several mountains. You can find plenty of groomers, steeps, woods, hike access, some bowl runs (not the vast bowls you'd find at Vail). The mountain truly caters to every kind of skier/snowboarder from beginner to extremist.
Beaver Creek dishes up an additional 600 feet of vert over sister-resort Vail (4,040' vs. 3,450'), so you can be sure your legs will be burning.
Beaver Creek is known for its Olympic Downhill Run: Birds of Prey. It's a double-black that is steep and fast, which you can access off the Birds of Prey Express Lift.
Village:
Beaver Creek is an upcale mountain village where not much is overlooked. The private resort town of Beaver Creeks sits directly behind the town of Avon, CO. Once you pass through the gates into the town of Beaver Creek, you will feel a sense of relaxation.
You can find plenty of five-star options at Beaver Creek Resort. There is one hotel that has a chairlift picking guests up inside the hotel. And for more affordable lodging accommodations, Eagle, CO is about a 20 minute drive west down I-70.
Reasons to Go:
Vail is too crowded. Big-time vertical. During the ski season, make it down to the central base at Beaver Creek just before 3pm for freshly baked cookies.
