About Arrowhead Golf Club
The course that took 300 million years to make.
General:
If you’re an avid golfer looking for a bit of a challenge, then Arrowhead Golf Club may be right up your ally. I’ve played this course several times now and each time I feel like I’m faced with different challenges. From the time you get up to the course you are right in the middle of red sandstone rocks (base of Rocky Mountains). Not only does this provide one of the best scenic views I’ve ever seen, but you actually have to play through them. (One of the many challenges)
Course:
The front nine is the easier part of the course. Each hole is open allowing recovery from bad drives. I typically have an easy time reaching every hole in 2 (disregarding par 3’s). Try
to play your best golf first as the back nine will impress you visually, but break you mentally.
When you start the back nine, you begin the journey into the red rocks. I’ve also noticed you see a lot more wildlife (literally deer 10 feet from you while you’re hitting the ball). At this time I would say enjoy the course and not so much your score. I shoot for par every time, but I’m not disappointed when I get a bogey.
All in all, I think this red rocks golf course would be in my top 5 favorite courses. The course is very challenging and you don’t get many courses with views like that. I also noticed they are trying something new this year with an “all inclusive” package.
